I have and will continue to have a place in my heart for Nintendo. In fact, my first console was a Super Nintendo. The video game market has changed drastically since the early '90s and it seems like what once was platinum is more so along the lines of silver now. Nintendo has always been...

I highly recommend this movie.

Don't let the trailer fool you, it's definitely intense. If you like psychological thrillers this is for you. And it's even based on a true story.

Written and Directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Slumdog Millionare).

How was "the scene"? I've heard it's been rough on reviewers. I really want to see this, but it's only on at the artsy theater and jeez, that's out of the way.

Out of curiosity, had you heard of this story before going?

I definitely thought it was intense. Boyle does a good job at putting you into Ralston's head. I usually can take a lot of blood and violence in movies, but the fact that it's a true story and Boyle places you into his head I felt as nauseous, squeamish and faint as Ralston did.

And I've heard great thing about the movie. It's got a 93% rating at Rotten Tomatoes, it's why I went to go see it.

And no, I did not know the story going in. If I hadn't seen it I'd be mad at lokness for saying that because I assumed it was going to end differently.
]I knew he would survive obviously because he got out to tell the story. But I didn't think he would cut his own arm off. I thought he would be rescued before he had to resort to that.
That is not really a spoiler though, since anyone who does glancing research on this story will find the truth.

I do want to see it out of morbid curiosity, and I think the minimal amounts of gore here are more affective than splatter porns like Hostel; it is only one scene but it is jarring because of what needs to be done for pure survival. That is more frightening than anything else.

I'd say it is a spoiler. Not everyone watches Oprah.

I loved all the movies Wicked mentioned so I saw it at the artsy fartsy theater (which costs more, those starving artist basterds).

Beginning was really good, the middle made me want to fall asleep and the end had me captivated. It made SAW look like a crappy children's book written by Madonna.

All in all, I enjoyed it.

I couldn't fucking stand to watch this movie. The scene is so unbelievably gruesome but the lead up to it is incredibly powerful too. The sense of joy at the end and the music and how he's so stupidly happy to just be free and alive works but it couldn't undo the act itself.

Very well done. Anyone remember who directed this? It reminded me of a Danny Boyle sort of project.

Fuck googling shit.

I LOVE every other Danny Boyle movie and then really don't care for the next one.

I never really had any interest in seeing this.

Have you seen Millions? I think that's what it's called. Jenna showed me that and at first I thought it was stupid, but it does hook you in the end. Stupid kid with his stupid accent. So loveable.

I did actually, he was interviewed on the colbert report for his new book and he was featured on cracked.com list of people who punched death in the face.

And all i can tell you about "the scene" is that... them violins do make a macabre sound when it goes... snip snip.

He's basically a sex offender who goes out into nature and starts wacking himself off.

I loved this movie. He did a good job showing what motivated him to do what he had to do. Boyle does a fantastic job showing all the ext/int. influences that revolve around decisions.
