Yesterday, while cleaning up my media center, I found my copy of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which I bought sometime before Christmas last year. I had been pretty excited about this game pre-release, what with it being the first "traditional", albeit shorter than usual,...

Sony's Shuhei Yoshida told GamesIndustry:

"I hear complaints [about the lack of AAA games]. I do realise that some people are only interested in big-budget AAA games. I don't really understand those people. I don't know if they've tried some of the indie games and decided they're not interested. Maybe they haven't even tried. That's a key question. With Resogun, which we offered for free for a long time on PS Plus, not every PS Plus member downloaded it, and that's a great, great game. That's a key question for us."

Thoughts? Do you prefer AAA games over indies? Do you like a healthy mix of both?

I like a healthy choice and I get why they aren't releasing AAA games on PS Plus for a brand new system. What I don't like is the lack of demo for almost any AAA title. A next gen console with DX11 capabilities and I'm spending most of my time playing 16 bit indies.

I hear ya. I really hope we see Sony step it up in the demo department. Once the PS4 library gets a bit larger, let's hope we see some AAA games pop up on PS Plus too.

It's because of demos that I played games like The Walking Dead and Limbo which would go on to be a couple of my favorite for the PS3 era.

I've grown fond of indie games simply because hyper-realistic graphics on AAA titles don't impress me as much as the artwork that goes into indie ones.

Indie games usually have really nice artwork. One of the reasons why I loved Shadowrun Returns. I loved the digital painting used!

AAA games to execs reads as another season of Call of Duty or Tony Hawk or Guitar Hero or Madden...

This guy was being an asshole, because he used two extremes.
"You guys either want another fucking COD, or you want a shooter, which we knows nobody plays anymore."
That's a pretty shit choice.

I liked Dragon's Crown, Puppeteer. Are those considered AAA titles as well? Doubtful.

In my opinion, the best games on PlayStation 4 are the indie developed games. Resogun was fun with its classy arcade style approach. Outlast I never finished, but I know some parts made me jump. Take a look at Trine 2. Gorgeous colors and from what I see 60FPS.

Like Lethean, I do prefer it to be balance, but I really get tired of shooters. With an exception of Destiny, because I love that RPG aspect.
