I have and will continue to have a place in my heart for Nintendo. In fact, my first console was a Super Nintendo. The video game market has changed drastically since the early '90s and it seems like what once was platinum is more so along the lines of silver now. Nintendo has always been...

Hey all so I'm considering purchasing a gold membership because of online play for demos. I'm pretty broke so itd be nice if you could try the multiplayer without a gold account, but what can ya do. I can't afford to buy games so it is purely for demos at the moment. I would do a trial to make sure it was the right choice and see if I actually want to fledge out the dollars but I can't seem to find any promos which is pretty lame considering the fact. Should I just man up and buy it? Or not worth it for demos?

If you're getting gold just for demos, I wouldn't buy it. I always thought silver account (or whatever they call it nowadays) can download demos. Definitely not worth it just for demos.

Silver can download demos.

Gold sometimes gets demos a week sooner. Demos aren't even being utilized by publishers much anymore. Most AAA releases go without a demo.

Definitely not worth it for demos.

It's not downloading the demos thats the problem. Itis the fact that you cannot play online multiplayer demos without gold. Or lets say games that I bought on the store years ago cannot be played online just because I don't have gold. So lame.

Just realize that if you start gold it's basically impossible to cancel. I've tried to cancel many many times and I've never figured out how to do it correctly.

I used a card, and never heard from them again after it ran out, after I blocked their promotional emails, that is.
