Well, Gamergate has spilled over into the mainstream media and the coverage appears to be nearly uniformly dreadful. Take " What is Gamergate, and What Does It Say About Gender In Video Games? " by David Konnow as an example.  It appears that the writer has done little to no...

If this turns out to be true that will be very interesting indeed.

And that's why I'm waiting a few months.

I'm not worried about that. I along with many users are having Battlefield 4 crash. We get this error CE-34878-0. I bought Battlefield 4, because I wanted something to replay. Can't even play the f*cking game. I bet Knack would have been a better option.

OH! I did play the game long enough to get the second to last mission and that happened. Tried restoring the corrupted file, nothing. I just want to finish the damn campaign. I read PC users experience a similar launch.

You're just worried about finding the disc tray.

Yeah, it runs the disc perfectly fine. However, Battlefield 4 save data keeps getting corrupted. So much for campaign being completed.

EA blames the day 1 ps4 patch.

Not surprising considering there was problems with 360 and PS3 at launch as well. I'm holding off for the PS4 slim model. hehe.

Not going to lie, but the PS4 overheats way too fast and the battery life of the DUALSHOCK 4 is very short.

Of course it overheats. It's going to be proven as an unreliable turd in the long run, because the twits made it too damn small to dissipate the heat correctly.
Hence the reason i'm waiting for the inevitable hardware revision. Remember Microsofts ghetto-ass solution for the 360 at first?
They slapped another heat sink onto it.
I'm assuming Sony will do similar soon.

Remember to treat you batteries kindly. Try not to drain them all the way down. Keep them topped off when you can. How you treat your batteries can have the absolute biggest effect on lifespan and energy capacity.(I know you just got the thing)

Make sure not to stick your ps4 in a enclosed space or alcove.

What's very short for you? My wireless mouse is 12 hours. I consider that medium.

I'd say about 5-6 hours of life. I thought the batteries are best when you drain all the power at the beginning and recharge them fully and drain it again. I like having my PS4 standing vertically like my other consoles, but haven't bought the vertical stand for it.

5-6 hours? Wow thats disappointing considering the PS3 controller lasted like a day and a half sometimes 2.

No thats a specific type of battery(NiCd) and is due to memory effect.

Most batteries you want to fully charge but not overcharge. LIthiums chargers turn off automatically so you dont have to worry.

Other people are now also reporting short battery life from their ps4 controllers. 6-8 Hours

Here are the battery specs for the ps4 controller
Quote:
Battery Type – Built-in Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery
Voltage DC3.7V
Capacity 1000mAh

So the battery is a lithium which is good for lifespan but its also not a very large capacity battery(Probably due to weight and price). Batteries will also normally experience a 20% degrade of capacity over its lifetime.(I've really witnessed this with my electric bike lithium batteries)
So keep the controllers charging when not in use. (I have a usb phone charger next to my bed so I just plug my ps3 controller into it, even works while I'm playing)

I can't tell you how angry I am the PS4 won't use PS3 controllers. Controllers aren't cheap.

What happened to the PS2 days when you could pop in your PS1 games and PS1 controllers? 9/11 was such a simpler time.
