Quick followup:

I took a day off from The Last Of Us and came back at it fresh last night. I had a lot more enjoyment in it this time and did much better. I must have been having a rare "off" day in my gaming mindset. I intend to see the game through to the end and, hell, might even give it a second go-through. The God of War Saga is my next official planned purchase. I'm pretty pumped to get a hold of itl

Being honest it's a great game that isn't always fun. It's tense and the story really beats it out of you.

That's kind of the vibe I've been getting so far.

And I've been perusing Amazon for PS3 deals and the selection of game bundles and collections available on this system is admittedly pretty astounding. You're getting some real value on most of them.

I haven't played God of War 3, yet, but God of War 2 kinda pissed me off. I didn't see much improvement of the game after God of War. I do recommend playing the Uncharted games.

Also try play-asia for japanese games you might enjoy. PS3 is region free.

I played GoW 3 for about an hour or so at a friend's house. What I did of it then I really enjoyed. What did you not like about 2? I thought it was rather tits.

GOW 3 was actually my first PS3 experience back in 2010 so naturally there were alot of "wow" moments and jaw dropping.

As for the frustration in TLOU, I know what you mean. The whole 1-bite-from-a-clicker-and-ya-dead-mon was irritating. But on a second playthrough it gets much easier since you get to keep all your upgraded stuff.

Seeing it in writing, I can accurately say that that's where my frustration was coming from: the clickers. I'd be doing reasonably well in a stealth area, then all of a sudden *BOOM* clicker sees me. I didn't know the game had a NG+ option. That's pretty spiffy.

I need some practice with the bow, but I can see it getting some heavy utilization once my aim improves. And I've been having a blast (da-dum-tss) with the nail bomb as well.

When you've got some practice, the bow is a pretty damn sweet weapon.

And as Gunner37 said, I always kept shivs on me for the purpose of clickers. Sometimes I would let a clicker come at me just so I could stab them in the head.

"Come at me bro."

I think this is sort of why it never really clicked for me. Because I was expecting something more tough, and what I got was way too scripted. I never felt scared or concerned, because the game provided more than enough for me.

Maybe things change up after Pittsburgh, but by my count I'm a third of the way through the game and it was simply too boring for me.
