Up until this point I've been trapped in the "Sonic Cycle" where I find myself excited for each new release, even though I'm always disappointed by the previous games in the series (aside from Generations, which was wonderful). Sonic: Lost World completely lost me, though. No more Sonic for me unless something SPECIAL happens.

It seems like they like to try new styles with every console generation, but people hate the games so much they have to come up with a brand new visual style every single time.

Part of me respects the fact that they keep trying to do new things with the series, but nine times out of ten it doesn't work out in the game's favour. Another game like Generations would do me just fine. I haven't seen enough of Sonic Boom yet to know whether or not that's the case, but having multiple playable characters just reminds me of Sonic '06, which terrifies me.
