After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Steam store page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/244630/
Official trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOh3xYPrYF8O

/-----------------------/
INTRODUCTION

Neotokyo° is a Half-Life 2 modification released in 2009 and was among the first patch of games to be Greenlit by Valve in 2012. Heavily influenced by Ghost in the Shell, it's a tactical multiplayer FPS in the vein of Counter-Strike, enhanced with with three separate classes that add depth to gameplay with abilities such as invisibility, rapid speed "bunnyhopping", multiple vision modes and... leaning!

Since the 2009 release, the game always had only under hundred players at most and for the last few years only a few dozen dedicated die hard players coming together on every Neotokyo° Friday (and sometimes on Tacticool Tuesdays)... That is not the case anymore!

Forward time 2 years afters being Greenlit by Valve and it finally was released on Steam on 4th of July!

After initial troubles of there being too few servers, the game currently boasts several hundred players at any given time with 100+ servers. Don't know how long that will last, eh heh heh, but it's better than ever!

Oh and it's completely free, and despite being called a mod is now totally standalone.

Since it was released 5 years ago, it is a bit aged graphically but still boasts detail rich maps and rather deep tactical gameplay. For me at least, it's the leader among tactical shooters.

HELP

To help you ease into the game faster, here are some comprehensive guides which I recommend:
Official noob brochure: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=281403529
Overview of classes & weapons: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=281383010
Guide to bunnyhopping: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuLgFfp23xo
Overall ways to abuse Source engine to get around faster: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=281569000
Recon class gameplay demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0ewUBTSlvQ

Bonus tip: When playing assault class and having a pistol in hand press X on keyboard to change firing mode to automatic: that little Tachi pistol is now a mini SMG! Do that at the start of round so you can immediately switch to pistol when your main gun runs out of ammo in middle of a fire fight. Certainly faster than reloading the gun.

SHAMELESS SELF PROMO

If you have suicidal tendencies, you can add me on Steam under the alias of "Whizzard" and attempt to tackle some veterans. I'm really really sorry if your opposing team has Snilah. Really.

If you wish to join the biggest and most veteran ( http://tinyurl.com/mdn4vyk ) Steam community of die hard Neotokyo players who kept Nt alive for all these years, called Active Neotokyo Players (EWISotT), then you can do so here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ANPA

See you in Neotokyo°!

Oh, I'm sure anything can go horribly wrong but still, that's the spirit!

I currently have a tight job schedule with 12 hour shifts so you might not see me playing much but I will play whenever I do have time.
