um...I doubt this even applies, but it's quasi-free.
www.urban-rivals.com
The reason I say quasi-free is that the only fee's come from buying packs of cards, and the cost for them is at most $5.00, plus it's optional.
So yeah...there you go. _________________

Orbiter - physically realistic space flight simulator
(Free as in beer; not Free Software.)
Official site - core package download
Orbit hangar mods site - hundreds of addons for various historical, present, future and fictional launchers, spacecraft, surface bases, etc
Semi-official forum - the official one is down.
Note: The latest stable release is 2006P1 (which is what all the mods and addons are compatible with), but the project is not dead, it's in constant development and the latest beta is always open for testing, on sourceforge. _________________ Stand up, all victims of oppression,

I forgot to post in here for a while it seems, so here's some more free/Free stuff. Most of the indie game/Free Software enthusiasts should be familiar with these, but such people seem to be lacking in here.
(strategy games, steep learning curve included in the price.)
Dwarf Fortress (free, only windows and mac release);Aurora (free, only windows release, forum registration required for installation instructions); FreeOrion (Free); Globulation 2 (Free)
(flight sim)
Flightgear (Free)
(online FPS twitch-shooters)
Nexuiz (Free); Warsow (Free)
Note, if you're running a Debian or Redhat-based desktop Linux distro with half-decent repositories, most of the Free games listed in here, along with other great ones, should be in your gaming repos. Seriously, check them, there's tons of great stuff in there. _________________ Stand up, all victims of oppression,

I don't know if here's any Liero fans in here, but anyways.
Couple Liero clonelikes:
Gusanos what is more faithful to the original.
Download also the Doom mod for it so you can see the awesome lighting and fire effects.
http://www.gusanosfiles.co.cc/mods/modlist
Liero Xtreme more friendly userface, but in my opinion Gusanos is better.
Liero is oftenly descriped as a real-time worms or 2d Quake.
EDIT: GAH!!! There's a version for Wii too!!! Wiiero!
Of course for further information visit Liero Wiki |

The site's been around forever and has thousands upon thousands of abandonware and freeware games, easily searchable. Some abandonware I picked up there: Fantasy General, Master of Magic, Warhammer Shadow of the Horned Rat, Xcom UFO defense, and Darklands! All free. |
Well I just found out that the underdogs' site is no longer available. Went bankrupt I guess. I'll edit it. |

Best free game I have ever played was Doukutsu Monogatari, or Cave Story. It has perhaps the best old-school style play that makes the whole thing awesome.

New HOTU sites are now up, so still search for Home of the Underdogs and you will still get Home of the Underdog sites, just go with the one you prefer.I prefer the one that has kept the look of the old one - it is a retro site, after all!!!

Abandonia is good too though, as others have said. |
