Last night I took my 360 and a massive amount of plastic instruments over to my friend's house for some festive pre-Thanksgiving food and fun(egg-nog and brandy). It was a perfect occasion for me to christen my new copy of Rock Band Beatles and get some time with it's latest DLC, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Complete Album Pack.

Now, to be honest, I've never been huge on the Beatles, but I did have a copy Sgt. Pepper's on a bootleg tape that I found in a field while on a camping trip and played the hell out of it. So it's kinda my favorite from the Fab Four's catalog. So of course that meant I had to do a drunken rendition of "For the Benefit of Mr.Kite". My powerhouse performance was raised to the next level by the added fact that I did not have my glasses and couldn't read the lyrics as they zoomed across the screen.

I would have some embarrassing video to show all of you but I forgot our new fancy pants camcorder's SD card. I would say I'm sorry, but I probably make enough of a fool of myself on this site as it is. If you've got a copy of Rock Band Beatles, go ahead and download you some Sgt. Pepper's goodness on Wii, XBLA, or PSN today. Or alternately you could just win a DLC code for the 360 version from us right here by coming up with the best Haiku about the Beatles ever written!

As usual leave your poetry in the comments section below and we'll pick a winner next Friday.

For last weeks contest I consulted with a haiku master to pick the most appropriate winner (you guys are getting too good at writing these)...and that was De-Ting. Congrats as always to our champion. PM me and I'll get you all the details you need to get your Torchlight on.

And to the rest of you, Happy Haiku Friday!

We recorded a more beer fueled than usual podcast today, so I'm a bit peckish, which I'm sure doesn't surprise any of you by this point. But I do recommend you check out this week's episode at the very least for my booze inspired Christopher Walken doing a symposium on Elf sex impression.

Anywho, happy Friday y'all!   read more...
