100th Haiku Friday: Vote for the Best Haiku!

Posted on Monday, July 25 @ 16:29:23 Eastern by

These are the four best haikus from our 100th Haiku Fridays celebration! One winner will get the grand prize package from GameRevolution, but all four will walk away with something awesome! Choose your favorite and vote in the comments! We'll reveal the overall winner on Wednesday.

De-Ting has also generously offered to send one haiku writer a gift! We're giving him the opportunity to pick who wins the Tingy 100th Haiku Fridays prize. That'll also be announced on Wednesday as well, so vote in the comments, and then check back to see if you've won!

Also, the best one was the one about the Pong ball, so that's what I would have voted for, but it wasn't picked.

I agree, the one about the Pong ball should have been chosen. I've got a feeling De-Ting might fix that though.

To be honest, I am a bit disappointed I didn't make the cut or at least that I didn't get a mention from the higher ups. I mean you could have said that people who previously won aren't eligible.

Going by the likes, people here had their clear favorites. Also I don't really understand which videogame character Seesaw's Haiku is about since that's just a Star Wars reference to me. So a wag of my finger to whoever didn't abide their own rules.

But before I start to sound too much like a cranky old woman or a sore loser, which I'm definitely not!

My vote goes to TheNesMan since I love the premise and I think it's the most clever one out of the four.

Good luck and congrats to Merlin, DarkPaladinX and Seesaw24!

It wasn't that you were uneligible, it was that we had to weigh recent winners differently. Don't worry, we're always giving stuff away to our community. Glad to see you've joined it!

I must concur with usaglory’s statement. In my opinion it was not fair “to weigh recent winners differently” in this particular Haiku Friday, because the top prize was promised to be something special. Given the fact this Haiku Friday, and the one in which I was a co-winner, have had multiple prizes to win, this policy does not seem right. I understand the reasoning behind this policy, so no one or two individuals will be constantly winning the Haiku Friday contests, yet in a contest with a special and/or multiple prizes this policy strikes me as being grossly unjust.

I'm glad so many enjoy it. Its been a rather long time Sense I've posted anything here. I think Duke might be the only one who may remember me at this point lol. Perhaps his wife Miranda I suppose. Colin's gone Now i think, so is Fuj and Johnny I think as well.

I still get my game news from here just haven't felt like posting anything for a very long time. Saw the 100th Haiku and went god I remember when this whole thing started and I felt old on the inside. Hell I remember being in High school and the finding Game Revolution in the computer lab at school and I'm almost 30 now... or maybe it was first year of college ugh i don't even remember how long I have really been here I just remember the very old red black and yellow color scheme when the site was first launched, I feel really old typing this now :)

Anyway um I don't think I can vote for myself so good luck to everyone :)
