LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Everything I Learned About Call of Duty: Ghosts Last Week
I wasn't allowed to talk about the new Infinity Ward game last week when I met with Activision, and I don't have much to say now that Xbox One spilled the beans.

DAILY MANIFESTO

A Call For Mail Is An Excuse To Give Away Swag

Posted on Wednesday, September 26 @ 17:11:24 Eastern by

I'm leaving the United States this weekend for an event overseas. That's why I needed my passport. Of course, I'm not yet willing to say where I'm headed, though I'm sure I'll get bored and post lots of goodies over at the @Game_Revolution twitter feed. The day I went to the Passport Agency in San Francisco was also the day I last mailed out swag.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of stuff that remains unclaimed. That said, I've forgotten where I'm supposed to send it all. That means I'm ready to just hand it out.

We record the 50th episode of GameRevolution Radio tomorrow and we have nothing in the mailbag. Leave something here: a memory, a favorite moment, episode, reason for listening, or just a question about video games. I'll send something to everyone when we answer their question on the air.

Don't forget to rate your fellow commenters! It'll obviously weigh in on our question choices!

What do you think about the direction of the Resident Evil series is taking? Good? Bad? Needs more guns?

I have an interesting question. What have been the hardest Collector's Edition of any video games that you have tracked down?

After 3 years, I was finally able to find the PAL-exclusive Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time Collector's Edition & All 4 One Special Edition (both an English & Spanish version). These 3 totalled over $300 & I say that's money well spent! :)

With the rise of the indy market over the last few years, coupled with the collapse of many big game companies and the systemic sequalization seen in the largest companies, do you see the current state of gaming as a renaissance of sorts, or the beginning of the end? The renaissance being the more optimistic view of the indy market vs. the lack of profitiablity for a great deal of players in the market, including "successful" indy game makers.

What new IP has you most excited? (Trick question its obviously Watch Dogs...)

In yet another year of the sequels, what one built on the first one the most? (Guild Wars 2, Borderlands 2, Torchlight 2, Darksiders 2, Max Payne 3, Diablo 3... I'm sure there's at least 10 more). In my opinion Guild Wars 2, though pretty much everything on this list was awesome. They just stuck very closely to their predecessors, Guild Wars 2 pushed its limits the most.

In recent years, the PC has regained a more significant share of the gaming market as current consoles wind down on their lifespan. Do you see the PC keeping some staying power when Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony release their new consoles in the near future, or will it suffer from a decline in popularity and content?

I'm writing a zombie paper for a presentation at an academic conference at the end of this week, so (it can also serve as a follow-up to the RE question above!):

With the rise of more ambitious zombie titles like the upcoming ZombiU, and excellent zombie narratives like The Walking Dead ep. 1, 2, & 3, where do you think the video game zombie is headed? Is there much more room for innovation, or is the success of the zombie going to be dependent on simply blending elements of what has already been done into a "total package" zombie game?

    Question?
Is everyone ready for a new console? I just got my PS3 two years ago and think there is still plenty of time left on its life. My vote is to hold off on a new console until at least 2015. Thats is only two years away with probably some of the greatest games headed for launch. GTA 5, BioShock 3, MGS5......

With the recent influx of HD remakes and bundles of older games do you think that the current generations of consoles i have just run out of ideas? Also if you could choose one video to have a HD update which would it be and why? Personally I would have to say Jet Force Gemini, or a Shenume 1 and 2 set.

Many games from our past have been so good at the time and offer so much nostalgia that fans want remakes (more than just HD) but many gaming companies let these cries go in one ear and out the other. This has caused some groups of fans to come together and form "remake" or "restoration" development teams that want to produce an upgraded version of their beloved games for the fans worldwide.

Chrono Trigger is easily rated one of the best games of our time with it's excellent plot, music and character development with a very easy to use combat system. There have been many attempts to bring this beloved game to the current generation (such as resurrection and CTR) but they are all met with a C&D and must halt production.

My question is this : Why are game developers such as Square Enix sending out letters and halting efforts to recreate one of their best games if they have no desire (overt or otherwise) to do it themselves? What can we do as gamers to help?

This one's for Dan; remember way back, when I mailed you about reviewing some Atlus games, why didn't you review them instead of reviewing some iPad and tablet games?

One more, I'm stuck in the last gen so what games do you regret not playing from yestergen?
