Yesterday, while cleaning up my media center, I found my copy of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which I bought sometime before Christmas last year. I had been pretty excited about this game pre-release, what with it being the first "traditional", albeit shorter than usual,...

DAILY MANIFESTO

Alan Wake 2, Gears of War 4, Respawn Exclusive, And More Xbox Reveal Predictions

Posted on Friday, May 17 @ 14:10:00 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

The fellas over at Microsoft are gearing up for a major event on Tuesday when the company finally reveals its successor to the Xbox 360—heck, they've even constructed a massive tent to house the show—and I'm bursting at the seams with excitement. Will the new machine be a cable box replacement? Will it require a constant internet connection? What games (if any besides Call of Duty: Ghosts) will be shown?

Be sure to check out the video above for a full rundown on my thoughts. Naturally, I couldn't squeeze everything into just fifteen minutes—yeah, I like to talk a lot—so I've summarized some of my predictions (while throwing in a few others) for you below.
  • Microsoft will show the console and reveal the name: Xbox Infinity
  • Kinect 2.0 along with the standard controller (which will look strikingly similar to the Xbox 360 one) will be shown
  • Kinect will be used more for entertainment purposes rather than gaming, with Skype and Twitch TV being two major additions
  • Microsoft will announce a partnership with Twitch TV to compete with Sony's "Share" functionality
  • Only a few (if any) first-party titles will be shown, which may include a new ForzaAlan WakeGearsFable, or that Kinect-centric title from Crytek called Ryse
  • Some sort of exclusive partnership with Electronic Arts revealed (possibly respawn or Madden-related)
  • Conference ends with Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay trailer
What do you think of my predicitions? Do you have some of your own? If so (and I'm sure you do) be sure to share them with the rest of the GameRevolution community in the comments below.

The Xbox Reveal takes place on Tuesday morning, May 21st at 10AM PT. Be sure to tune in to GameRevolution at that time for all the exciting news that will inevitably spill out of the event. In the meantime, get caught up on all the rumors right here and check out our ideal launch lineup over here.
