Try imagining mixing a cartoon Kentucky Derby with your mom's old Compaq that could only run crude card games. Now, make it TOTALLY worth the trouble.

After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Black Ops Reaches $650 Million

What do you buy with that much money? I'll tell you. You buy one billion, three hundred million Jack in the Box tacos.

Two years ago, before I started working for Game Revolution, I got myself into the Game Developers Conference with some event passes off of Craigslist. I had a lot of fun! It was interesting seeing journalists, developers, business-type people all together, rubbing elbows.

Activision was promoting Guitar Hero: Metallica. Their booth consisted of a stage, a bunch of couches, and music that was unnecessarily loud.

There were also a bunch of kegs.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops reaching $650 Million in sales, I think they could at least upgrade to something better than Bud Light.

Certainly more interesting than anything the suits at Activision (who have nothing to do with event catering) had to say were some key Xbox Live statistics Microsoft let us all know about today.

According to Microsoft:
• More than 5.9 million multiplayer hours were logged playing Call of Duty: Black Ops by end of launch day, November 9.
• More than 2.6 million unique gamers played Call of Duty: Black Ops in one day on November 9.

I can't imagine this number won't grow over the next four weeks of holiday shopping.
