Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Teased

Posted on Tuesday, August 10 @ 11:53:06 Eastern by danielrbischoff

Already sick of Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer?

Well you might not be the audience Treyarch is trying to reach with this latest teaser for Black Ops multiplayer.  Highlights?  R/C Car bombs, security cameras, and explosive cross bow bolts make the list.  Returning?  Numbers, numbers and more numbers.  Here's hoping they won't be using the same damn level up noise as MW2.

What do you think?  Me?  I'll be passing on this title (unless I'm reviewing).  I can only handle so much CoD.

Once I get past the trailer for "Scott Pilgram vs The World" that I've seen 100 times...

Call of Duty fits Robert Kotick's quote of "titles that can be exploited every year" to a 'T.' As a multi-player game, it's OK, but nothing fantastic. If you aren't one of those people who can log hours upon hours in it memorizing the lay of each map, respawn areas, and the best routes to take that don't leave you exposed, prepare for an exercise in futility. I bought MW 2, only to see that they largely ignored the single player experience. I'll probably pass on this too.

I know it has its detractors and haters, and it's not perfect, but I personally like Modern Warfare 2. I'll more than likely check out Black Ops as well.

Are you guys kidding me? Have you seen the trailer to Black Ops? It looks SICK. You must be some seriously jaded video game players if you don't think Modern Warfare is the epitome of 1st person shooters...

Stick to CoD4, for great justice. MW2 jacked everything up, and fun wasn't on the recipe. This looks like another pain in the neck.

Steve, it's hard to get excited about the same game year after year with minor tweaks its the NFL / NHL version of first person shooters. Is it good? YES. Is it the best of its kind? YES. But have we all played it before and still gettin charged full price, YES.

That, and the 2-3 DLC's they release for each version that all cost 1200 pts. really? Le Sigh.

hmmlets see... Ballistic (shoot-able) Knife? CHECK! R/C "Camper-Slayer" Bomb Car? CHECK! Redeemer-style remote controlled missile? CHECK! Theater Mode stolen from Halo 3? CHECK! Fun? maybe.

Now, in the last slew of CoD games I must say that W@W was my fav (it had me sold on dismemberment) so I'm still willing to give it a try. Especially since after playing MW2 for 2 hours (I'm including campaign) I wrote it off as a loss, letting me keep some passion for CoD franchise (even though in my mind its second to Halo.) which would otherwise be wasted on MW2.
