After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Capcom Offends Everyone Except Me

Bad day for Capcom, and good day for the Politically Correct patrol.

Capcom got the double-whammy today, when black activists got wind of the Resident Evil 5 trailer. The resulting webalanche completely destroyed their blog site. To be fair, people unfamiliar with the Resident Evil series would see this video as a white dude in military garb shooting demonized black Africans. Their zombification is not chronicled in the trailer.

On the other hand, I don't remember anyone complaining about the zombie Spaniards or zombie Americans from previous installments. It's probably just a matter of whether or not you are familiar with the Umbrella Corporation. Bastards.

But then, they get the one-two punch when the Council on American-Islamic Relations gets the Wii game Zack & Wiki changed, and the chant of  "Allahu akbar" (God is great) will be taken out of the game. You can hear it here when the little dudes all bow down and pray.

To me this one is more ridiculous. I've played through a thousand games where you play as a thousand different deities, all called god or gods. I don't speak Arabic, so I'm not sure how different "Allahu akbar" is from "praise God". But hell, I've played as a deity in a hundred games, and let's just say I'm not always benevolent.
