Chess Would Suck If It Came Out as a Video Game

How does this, something so silly, ring so much truth? Of course, what it's missing is the entire marketing up to it: the debut cinematic teaser trailer with no information about the game, the Game Informer cover (also with no information about the game), the developer coming out on stage at some E3 conference saying how Chess is going to be the s*** and shows off a trailer with pawns fighting against each other to epic orchestral music, the gaming press writing mounds of articles that troll for hits with Chess vs. Checkers debates and Chess PS3 vs. X360 screenshot comparisons, and then finally, just when you can't take the hype anymore...

    Well if this will make developer to make a sequel to Battle Chess then i'm all for this!

    I had Battle Chess back in the early 90's ran it on a 286 PC. You can get a copy of it at gog.com.

    I have that for Nintendo still. My favorite is when the Queen takes the Bishop. Shoots him 3 times with a pistol.

    Pfft, typical, letting noobs buy their way to victory. A real player can win with just pawns, you know, a piece that actually requires skill?
