I don’t even care all that much for the Lords of the Rings brand, which makes the content falling under Shadow of Mordor’s Season Pass a pleasant surprise.

CNN's Review For 3DS Is An Epic Fail

Posted on Thursday, March 24 @ 18:27:32 Eastern by

I don't expect a video game review on CNNMoney.com to be amazing, but really, CNN?! What kind of self-proclaimed "hardcore gamer" who grew up on Halo spews this kind of nonsense and gets paid for it: "Make-believe, I guess?"

1) Why is he comparing the graphics on a handheld to, say, the full HD Playstation 3?

2) Why is he comparing the iPhone to the 3DS? The iPhone and the Nintendo 3DS may exist in the same handheld market, but for entirely different reasons. One is exclusively a gaming device, one is a PHONE that happens to be "game-friendly". It's like comparing the iPhone to a laptop (that can do so much more).

3) Has this "hardcore" gamer even seen a Nintendo DS or any of its last three incarnations? The Nintendo 3DS looks like a Gameboy? It has a "retro design"? The stylus and the cartridges are '90s-era and "something we haven't seen since palm devices"?

His criticism of the battery life and his info on the 3D effects and AR cards are all right, but the Internet has a word for this review: FAIL.
