CoD: Black Ops Wager Modes

Posted on Wednesday, September 1 @ 22:48:30 Eastern by
For the problem gambler in you! Treyarch held a multiplayer event tonight and there's plenty of multiplayer info to glean from this trailer.

New modes include:

"One In The Chamber" - Everyone spawns with one bullet and picks up spares from the players they kill. Miss? You'll be stuck with melee.

"Sticks and Stones" - Everyone spawns with a crossbow, tomahawk, and ballistic knife. Tomahawking another player will steal all of their money.

"Sharp Shooter" - Everyone spawns with the same random weapon, followed by another random weapon after a set period of time.

"Gun Game" - Two words that mean just about everything to me. Starting with the "lowest gun" kills will give the player better and better guns. Get through all the weapons and win.

In other words, my decision to not buy Black Ops has started to waver.

(Black Ops multiplayer was previously in the manifesto here and the Special Edition was featured here.)

"One in the Chamber" actually sounds pretty cool. Not sure I can force myself to buy something from Treyarch, however.

I'm glad that they are trying new ideas to multiplayer. The deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture-the-blank cycle was getting pretty old. I probably won't buy it, but it will be interesting to see how well these new modes are received.

One in the Chamber and Sticks and Stones are really, really going to suck once that infamous lag kicks in. I still don't plan on getting this, but I'm certain my brother will.

What lag? I don't get any lag on Xbox Live. Perhaps you are referring to the Playstation "Network".

They can add all the **** they want into the next 50 CoD games, but until they fix the glitches, bugs and exploits people keep using I will not be purchasing anymore CoD. It took me long enough to finally not give a **** about all the lil kids with big mouths, but I cannot look past all the exploits that were used in MWF2 and the lack of fixing them.

If the inclusion of extra modes you never have to play makes you not want to buy the game well then you probably werent going to buy it anyway.

    And PSN isnt laggy

If it's not PSN, it must just be the network connection on the PS3 itself that sucks.

whatever makes you feel better, ive never had lag, sounds like someones just jealous they have to pay for something that should be free and are trying to justify it.

The part where you're wrong is that I own a PS3, and I choose to play on XBL because it is simply better.

-waves his Halo Reach pre-order ticket- Sorry darlin' but I'm taken. I must ask though, why are so many people raging about Trayarch doing this game? Sure CoD 3 sucked (Though I liked the fact that it wasn't for once centered around holy trinity of American, British and Russians. Instead taking a shot at American, Canadian and Polish...it might be nothing but cosmetic change for some, but I felt better with reduction in the number of commies on the screen.) but W@W wasn't bad. Sure people moaned about it being again in WWII, but it played fine. I especially loved it for body dismemberment and a small, but oh so crucial to me fact that I could detach scopes from sniper rifles (I suck with sniper scopes in CoD. period. Hell, I suck with ACOG 90% of the time). So why does everyone moan about Trayarch? At least their both their CoD games combined still had less bugs than MW2...
