Community Choice! Game of the Year Round 5: Portal 2 Versus Mortal Kombat

Posted on Tuesday, December 13 @ 18:01:15 Eastern by
You guys know how this goes! GameRevolution will be publishing our Game of the Year picks soon and your nominations in each category will be called out in each of those post.

But enough about us! We want to let the world know what the GameRevolution community thinks! That's why we're going to tournament style our way down to one game to rule them all. Your nominations for Game of the Year will enter and only one will leave... maybe a little bruised, a little beaten, but all the better for it. Let's get to it with the second round!

Portal 2

From GameRevolution's Review:

Portal 2 is an exceptionally well-crafted, intelligent, entertaining, humorous game. You will laugh. You will feel like a freaking genius. You will want more. And yes, you will probably be hearing quotes from Portal 2 for the next three years.

VS

Mortal Kombat

From GameRevolution's Review:

In one swift blow, Mortal Kombat reminds me why I dressed up as Sub-Zero for Halloween when I was six: It's brutal, aggressive, and awesome. The blunders with the auto-difficulty, story, and online can be easily patched or passed over by the return of the franchise to its arcade roots - where it belongs. Now play some Mortal Kombat before Scorpion tells you to get over here.

How did Mortal Kombat get teamed up against Portal 2? They cant really be compared except both could be played 2 player with someone sitting next to you. Even still its Portal 2 all the way.

Portal 2 - A little silly but otherwise great banter; though Valve really should let the protagonist speak, or at least think obvious thoughts out loud. The puzzle portion was difficult yet solvable and always changing.

Mortal Kombat - Had some great special moves that made you say "whoa" as you cringed a little, but that is about all.

And just like the Presidential elections - I have an opinion, I pick the correct candidate, then I don't vote because I'm lazy. I aint clicking a link to click another link.
