Yes, but do Actions Per Minute really mean anything? Or are they just showing off by clicking on empty ground?

I saw a Korean champ playing Starcraft once. I could barely follow what he was doing. This is real, watch the menus at the bottom of the screen, not the map like us noobs do. Hardcore EVE players actually minimize all the graphics and just play looking at menu's and spreadsheets.

Thats why I don't mess around with Koreans, or EVE players. Koreans playing EVE are right out.

Now I remember why I deleted the Starcraft 2 beta. Because little guys like him actually train to rape my face off in under 13 seconds.

I don't think I've ever stared at a spread sheet while playing EVE. Sure tonnes of menus, but only people with terrible memory need more than a glance at a reference material to know what they need to do.

I HAVE however stared at tonnes of spreadsheet like information while outside of EVE comparing ship fittings and what-not.

It looks like half the time they are just jumping between two groups and not actually issuing commands.
    They're just pressing buttons mindlessly.

I'm in SC2 beta (yay!) and I noticed in the few replays I actually watch of myself (yay!) my APM sometimes goes from 50 (doing normal stuff) to 150 when something is actually happening.
(And there's no way in hall I'm going to micromanage every Zergling.)

i would say that 90% of his actions were just switching between groups that he wasn't even issuing any commands to so it's not as impressive as they make it seem. That being said I'm sure i'd still get slaughtered.

...wait. You can do stuff with the keyboard in SC and WC3? Man no wonder I am terrible at those games. On a serious note thought, I have watched some replays from DoTA (now HoN Iguess) and some the speed of some of those elite players is unreal. But yes, it does look like this guy is just flipping between groups and maybe a few buildings for research. Impressively quick, but it does not seem to be overly productive. Then again, I am not an elite player so what do I know.

This is dumb. A useless talent. You can only go as fast as the game does. Units have speeds that they can walk around on on the map. I can do everything they do with out all the clicking and key stroking. I say it minimizes effort if you go slower, Less chance of making a mistake.
