Dead Space 2 Launch Trailer With Butterfly Wings

There've been plenty of worries flying around the internet about Dead Space 2. Those not normally fans of the survival horror genre have plenty of reason to look forward to Dead Space 2, it has more action!

Of course, the die hard horror crowd is hoping that the original Dead Space's tense atmosphere and "BOO" factor aren't lost in the change up. Isaac has a face? Isaac talks? That's not Dead Space is it?

Early reviews point to Dead Space 2's astounding quality thanks to Visceral Games adding to the horrifying elements established in the first title instead of replacing them. Despite that, I'm sure this launch trailer isn't helping to coax the staunch fans that built up Dead Space in the first place.

Smashing Pumpkins? Does that mean there'll be a successful mix of blockbuster action and white-knuckle horror?

I have to be honest with you, I'm playing through the original Dead Space for the first time and the horror can be dialed back a touch. We can all benefit from less pee'd-pants and more thrill.

I'm right there with you. I've had it sitting on a shelf for a year and a half waiting to get through a hellish set of college semesters and finally sat down for a serious playthrough last night... in the dark... I personally like how the horror is just a bit too much for me. The Resident Evil games never really horrified me, and Silent Hill games are (typically) quiet and introspectively scary. That the pervasive sense of dread Dead Space has mated with jump out of your skin moments have been pushing me out of my comfort zone, and it's been a real thrill. When I can stand to man the **** up and play the game, that is.

Also, is it just me, or was the Ishimura approved by an Anti-OSHA? Those upgrade desks look like they could tear your ****ing arm off if you're not careful. I can imagine a safety inspector walking around saying, "Could we move this heavy, powerful piece of machinery to where its mechanism will be just a bit closer to where the personnel will be?"

Seriously... "What's with these jagged walls? Someone could trip and hurt themselves..."
