After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

DualShock 3 Hands-On (Literally)

Posted on Thursday, April 3 @ 19:40:39 PST by Duke_Ferris
One of the new DualShock 3 controllers showed up yesterday in preparation of its launch next week, so I thought I'd give it a quick test drive and report my findings.

The story of how Sony lost it's rumble and eventually got it back is actually pretty interesting, but I'm not going to go into it all over again.

Now that we have one, I'm happy to report that it is essentially identical to the SixAxis plus additional vibration. It weighs just a few ounces more, which frankly, I like. I always thought the SixAxis didn't have quite enough heft. It still has the tilt control, of course.

Some games already have rumble as well. I tested it with Uncharted, and the vibration worked perfectly.

Also, while I was testing it, I checked in on Folding Team GR. I'm happy to say, we're still kicking ass, and we're up to 629 out of 114,281! That's just astounding. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, read up.

If you have a computer or a PS3 (and I know you have a computer), I urge you to join Folding Team GR (team #72437). Just download the client here.

This one is for Science!
