DAILY MANIFESTOEA Shares Fall 6% After MoH ReviewsPosted on Tuesday, October 12 @ 18:07:36 Eastern by Daniel Bischoff
Medal of Honor is out today, as are reviews of EA's big holiday title. Lower than expected scores drop EA stock over $1 from about $16. Hit this thread to tell the rest of GR what you think about MoH. Reuters reports that EA stock suffered after returns on Medal of Honor were mere points lower than the company could have hoped. In the article, Pachter and another analyst are in agreement on review scores being the cause of EA's fall today. What was I saying about Metacritic again? How much is this going to affect sales of Medal of Honor, really? In the end, I think Medal of Honor will do as well as it was going to anyways. There were already plenty of things stacking up against the shooter, including the whole Taliban mess. It also doesn't help gamer's opinions that EA backed down on the label in multiplayer modes. With Medal of Honor's Monday Night Football ad, it seemed like there was going to be plenty of marketing aimed solely at the two-game-a-year Madden crowd. With last night's Call of Duty: Black Ops commercial conveniently in the same market the day before Medal of Honor would go on sale, EA might have gotten cut down at the knees anyways. Until commenting is opened up on reviews and previews, share your thoughts on MoH here. Comments
