E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon Haiku Fridays Winners

Posted on Tuesday, July 12 @ 16:35:26 Eastern by

Sorry for the delay everyone! You might hear a bit less from me throughout the rest of this week, but before I left, I wanted to let you know who won last week's Haiku Fridays contest. Please PM me your name and address in order to receive your copy of Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon for Xbox 360. If you're lucky, Nick Tan might give you a shout so you can hop online with him and make some bugs scream.

If you're one of the above, send me your information to receive your prize! If you're not... the comments section below will more than accommodate your bitching.

YES! YES! IN YOUR FACE…… Oh, sorry. Must be humble. Thanks. I’m glad you liked it, although that wasn’t my personal favorite of the three. I can honestly say being picked as winner is enough of a honor for me. I only entered to see if I could win. You see I don’t have an Xbox. So I am officially declining the prize. If I was to judge the remaining field of Haiku I would say Sammo or maybe daverabbit would deserve the prize. Only a suggestion. It is GR’s to do with as GR sees fit. Thanks.

And for future reference, are we allowed to submit more than 1 haiku? I'll just start submitting 10-20 haikus so statistically I should have a better chance of winning.

The only reason I submitted more than one was because I wasn’t told not to. You know what they say --It’s easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission.

I wasn't trying to call you out, I was curious. I've only just recently joined the community (as in, got a login and started being active) so I wasn't sure what the stipulations were. Thanks silverstorm for the backlog info.

I didn't think you were calling me out, I just love the sound of my own voice. So friends? I to am a noob. And sometimes I may come across as a JERK, but I don't mean any harm. :-)

This is what Duke had to say on the matter all the way back in the 4th official Haiku Friday:

"We read all your haiku (yes, the plural of haiku is haiku) but your first one is weighted heavily and later entries are regarded with suspicion. "

Of course, the contest has gone through a few iterations since then, so who knows at this point.

So let me get this straight, if I submit more than one haiku the first has the best chance to win. Ok, next time I’ll put the best haiku first. That’s a simple strategy for success. Unless they change the rules, it is their game after all.

Didn't you guys have another contest earlier last week sometime for another game as well (I think it was Trenched, or something like that)? Who won that one?
