The recent blog, Peace in the Era of Call of Duty  really made me think about war games that dig deeper than simply a kill streak reward. The first game that came to mind was Spec-Ops: The Line and although I haven’t played it, I began to wonder if it did the war genre as...

Game Blamed Fo.. Hey! Patapon!

Posted on Thursday, December 20 @ 19:11:41 Eastern by Duke_Ferris
The interwebs are all in a kerfuffle about the Mortal Kombat killing, but I'd rather play the preview build of Patapon I just received. Really? Mortal Kombat?

Now there's a game that just can't stay out of trouble. Jack Thompson news appearances as an "expert" in 5...4...3...

In brief, a 16 year old and her 17 year old boyfriend were playing "Mortal Kombat" while babysitting the girl's 7 year old sister. Not the game, mind you; they were kicking and karate chopping each other and calling it Mortal Kombat. One assumes they have played the game, however.

Anyway, the idiots managed to get drunk and accidentally beat her to death. I'm sure they feel terrible, and horribly guilty.

I can't figure out why they're being charged as adults though, because this is exactly the type of mistake that kids would make. Just roughhousing that got too rough. Anyway the media is having a blast with it because they called it Mortal Kombat instead of Smackdown or Fight Club or Cowboys and Indians.

That's all I have to say about that. If you want more, don't trust the news, here's the full police report.

Now I'm going to play some Patapon, a game I've been excited about since I saw a trailer at E3. Below is an awesome new trailer.
