Although the remakes mentioned would be great, I think what is really needed to return Final Fantasy to its former glory is a complete reboot. They should decide how they want to retell the stories and start over by calling the first new game Final Fantasy, then FFII, FFIII, etc. with all new gameplay mechanics, engine, etc. If they don't, FF is eventually going to fall into obscurity as "that game series that the old guys talk about".
You should stop e-mailing Amazon to complain, Anthony, and start opening customer service chats instead. You're more likely to get it changed that way, plus the chat people tend to hand out Amazon credit too.
Excellent idea. They probably think they reboot it anyway, but I think going back to the original would make a big difference. You never know what fresh eyes could do with those old plot lines and gameplay mechanics.
