So much more than war...
By shandog137

The recent blog, Peace in the Era of Call of Duty  really made me think about war games that dig deeper than simply a kill streak reward. The first game that came to mind was Spec-Ops: The Line and although I haven’t played it, I began to wonder if it did the war genre as...

A Very Merry Xmas!

What is the point of X mas when you have all of the games and
consoles for everything? What do you ask for?

Hey Curt,

That's a very good question, spoken like a true game geek. It's nice to know you have your priorities straight.

What to get when you already have it all? How about a pony? If that's too pricey, we recommend a miniature one.

We Will Survive!
From: "X-File"
Subject: Survivor revolutionary? Hi there, I have a question about the game Survivor. The game got a F- as a grade. Now we all know this game sucks more than everything that has ever sucked before, but since it created a new grade (the F-) isn't it a revolutionary game? It changed the grading system we all know. And if it is revolutionary, shouldn't it get a higher grade? But, if it gets a higher grade, the only F- in the world wouldn't be anymore. And if it never existed the game wouldn't be revolutionary anymore... I think this is like one of those paradoxes like the ones with time travel, or isn't it? Man, my head hurts. Greetz, Wouter 'X-File'Krijt PS. Keep up the great work!

Hi X-File,

Warning: Continuing to think about Survivor: The Interactive Lame will break your head.

Our brains have a restraining order against all Survivor-related thoughts.

They're Called 'Genres' For A Reason

Which game would you guys recommend? Final Fantasy X or Grand
Theft Auto 3? Now give a REAL answer. Not "its like comparing
apples and oranges."

Hey there Mystery Writer,

Fine, we won't use the old "apples & oranges" cliche. It's more like trying to compare Final Fantasy X and Grand Theft Auto 3.

- GR

P.S. If you want a role-playing game, don't buy an orange.

Hi Big Gamer,

You want money for cheating? Hmmm...you're gonna make a great politician.

I am beging to lose my intrest you guys you are
doing what every pcgamer was worring about doing
only consoles. well what ever if you want to talk
to me this is my third letter but e-mail me at **********
thanks

Happy Holidays Geoff,

We appreciate your concern, but the fact of the matter is that the past month has brought the release of two brand new consoles. This is a historic season for console gaming.

How could you not expect to see a lot of console reviews during this hectic holiday season? In order for us to cover a decent percentage of these hot new releases, we have had to trim our PC coverage a bit. We're not thrilled by it, but the sheer number of console games coming into the office has made it hard to focus on much else.

Never fear, though, we have every intention to review as many PC games as our little tired fingers will allow. You can expect GR reviews for Empire Earth, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Ghost Recon and others very shortly. Patience is all we ask..and a week-long vacation, and an in-office Jacuzzi, and hourly massages, and...
