After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

GR Release Round-Up 03/20/2011

Posted on Sunday, March 20 @ 16:35:49 PST by

Gamers are always looking forward and I am no different. Did you know the 3DS launches next Sunday?! My inner-Nintendo-fanboy is bursting! BURSTING!

After selling my Wii and learning that you never expect a piece of handheld hardware from Nintendo to last on the shelf I'm still excited by new Nintendo goodness. So what do I do? Struggle with my demons and find a place of calm, intelligent consideration or freeze waiting outside a store next Saturday night?

Oh, here are some games that land between now and the onslaught of 3DS software:
  • Crysis 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) - March 22nd, 2011
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD (PS3) - March 22nd, 2011
  • The Tomb Raider Trilogy (HD) (PS3) - March 22nd, 2011
  • Jikandia: The Timeless Land 2 (PSP) - March 22nd, 2011
While Crysis 2 and Crytek's big push for 3D might be a big topic of conversation this week, I still think a lot of focus will land on the 3DS and its big push for... well, 3D. With North American review units and tons of games to review, you can expect outlets everywhere to be tossing aside the 3D goggles and instead trying to figure out how to land those combos in Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. Look out next week for a double-sized edition of GR's Release Date Round-Up
