Grandma Dies Before Her Gaming Wish Comes True
Posted on Monday, January 31 @ 13:55:43 Eastern by Nick_Tan

In a 1996 issue of Nintendo Power, Edith Jeter of Puyallup, Wash was distressed that Enix America closed:
I'm now 76 years old. I may not live long enough to see Dragon Quest VI unless someone takes action soon.
The English localization of Dragon Quest VI comes out Feb. 14. But where is she now? That is the question Racketboy forum member Urban Champion-e that propelled him to find Mrs. Jeter, but the answer was not a golden one. Edith, 91, died peacefully at her home on Jan. 3, her obituary reads:
Edith worked at the water district from 1966-1984 and during that time was also an owner of the Variety Store in downtown Manchester. She wrote the "Manchester Meandering" Column for the Port Orchard Independent, and organized the Centennial Celebration for the town of Manchester. Edith enjoyed reading, playing video games, and was an author of a family genealogy book that she proudly distributed to her family.
I can only gather one lesson from this: Find a way to live forever to make sure that I experience the world of Fallout. (I may not have to live that long.)
