I am a PS3 owner and someday hope to be a PS4 owner, yet I am not at all dissatisfied with my choice to delay purchase, solely based on the current PS4 library. When I transitioned from a Playstation 1 to a Playstation 2, I was pleasantly surprised that I could for the most part rid myself of my PS1...

DAILY MANIFESTO

Haiku Friday! Plus A Huge Prize For One Artist Out There.

Posted on Friday, August 28 @ 19:15:52 Eastern by Duke_Ferris
GR has teamed up with KOEI to offer a colossal prize this week. Plus our haiku winner will get a Brutal Legend T-shirt and fridge magnet.

All the details are over here in the podcast where our friend Jarik from KOEI joins us this week. But to summarize, this monthlong contest will trade your art for theirs. Here's a description of the prize in their words.

To commemorate the launch of WARRIORS OROCHI®2 for PSP, KOEI has commissioned this limited edition art piece. This is an artist's rendering of the new WARRIORS OROCHI®2 PSP artwork on a Giclee canvas print. The stunning image features the 96 playable characters in WARRIORS OROCHI®2 for PSP, including warrior monk Benkei and the lovely San Zang, characters exclusive to the PSP release. The print process for this extremely rare item is the same used for fine art reproduction. Like fine art, this limited edition art will be printed on a high-quality canvas and stretched onto an interior wooden frame. The WARRIORS OROCHI®2 for PSP canvas print is only being given away and cannot be purchased anywhere. Actual size of the piece is an impressive 16.25"x27.75" WARRIORS OROCHI®2 for PSP ships August 25th.

What they don't say is this their "limited edition" is 25. Yep, there are, and will only ever be 25 of these in existence. None of them will ever be for sale, and one of them will belong to a lucky (or rather, talented) revolutionary. It just doesn't get more collectable than that.

Your assignment is to create any work of original art - drawing, painting, sculpture... any art form -  inspired by any of the Warriors series (excluding Gundam, no robots thankyouverymuch) and send it in to GR. Jarik and the GR staff will pick one winner and trade our art for yours.

The address is:

Game Revolution
732 Gilman St.
Berkeley, CA 94710

Submissions must be received by September 30th. Sorry, submissions cannot be returned without serious begging, and probably not even then.

So get cracking, and don't worry if you are not artistically inclined, we'll probably be drunk when we pick the winner. And if you still can't bear to send something in, your poetic soul can post a haiku below.
