Haiku Fridays: Team FREE 2 [PLAYDATE ANNOUNCEMENT]

Dammit! I was just about to giveaway a free copy of Team Fortress 2 this week! Freaking Valve had to go and let everyone play their hat-wearin', fraggin', stabbin', rootin', tootin', mumblin', healin', online, multiplayer shooter for FREE--- Aw, jeez! I can't keep up this charade any longer! Team Fortress 2 is FREE TO PLAY PEOPLE! I'm so excited!

I'm obviously a huge fan of TF2, check the icon. If you're not, there's never been a better time to try the game out. Why? Because GameRevolution's next OFFICIAL Community Playdate is scheduled for next weekend. Attendance is mandatory! Nah, just kidding, but I will hate you forever if you don't manage to show up for this one.

We'll get to this week's Haiku Fridays contest in a second, but I wanted use this opportunity to reach the general GameRevolution audience. We want AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE in this playdate, so hear are the details:

Game: Team Fortress 2 on your PC or Mac
Day: Friday, July 1st, 2011
Time: 3:00 PM PST (6:00 PM EST) To Whenever
Who: EVERYONE

Got it? The game is now absolutely FREE to play, and I'm sure we'll have plenty of people new to the game, so don't worry if you're not schooled in the ways of TF2. If you want to play, please install Team Fortress 2 BEFORE the playdate (dur) AND JOIN THE OFFICIAL GAMEREVOLUTION STEAM GROUP. This is MANDATORY. It's not hard either, just click on my all-caps-yelling-at-you and join the group. They're awesome, despite their elitist PC gamer nature. We'll be announcing the TF2 playdate throughout the week on ALL fronts, including front page posts, Twitter, forums, Steam group, and generally just screaming at you.

Oh, the Haiku Contest? Write about....

Write about ONE class from Team Fortress 2. You can choose from the Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Medic, Engineer, Sniper, or Spy. Write an awesome Haiku and win $20 for the PSN. We happened to find another card in our back pocket that we forgot about. Don't you love it when that happens?

This is the first time I've played it on PC. God, do I suck. It's too bad this isn't a 360 play date, I'd dominate on Soldier and Pyro.
