LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Halo Wars Stat Tracking Shut Down, World Keeps Turning

Posted on Monday, November 22 @ 17:22:29 Eastern by
On December 15th, Microsoft and the Halo-branch 343 Industries will be taking the official Halo Wars website offline. This means that the game's stat-tracking will also disappear, as well as the forums.

Gamers still playing Halo Wars in any competitive sense have shared their disgust through the use of expletives. Of course, those kinds of words are going to undo the decisions that have already been made.

While the forum thread (located here) is full of different users now that the internet has gotten hold of this story, but in reality, there are only like three or four different people actually discussing the next title update that cuts off stat tracking and website integration with the game.

The game is years old at this point. The community that's still playing are dedicated enough to track their own stats if they decide to stay with the game. I'm not surprised by this move.

I am disappointed though.

An Xbox Live price hike occurs and features get taken away from a first party title in Microsoft's flagship franchise? Doesn't seem right.

Just another reason I'll not be renewing my Gold membership in March. My message of dissatisfaction will be muted though by the Kinectbox 360 owner's flocking to sign up for online Gold.
