I'm on This FIFA 12 Trailer Like Cream on a Schnifflkicker

Posted on Monday, August 29 @ 06:31:27 Eastern by Heath_Hindman

EA Sports has just sent out a new trailer for its upcoming soccer game, FIFA 12. Not yet available in English, the trailer has the narrator speaking some sort of strange, unintelligible dialect so no one can be sure what is being said, but that is obviously part of the artistic beauty of the trailer. EA knew that there was more prestige and mystery in not actually knowing what was being said. It's kind of like ICO, how you can't understand Princess Yorda like at all, but that kind of makes it more amazing.

The narrator, from what my linguist buddies and I can figure, dies in the commercial and the mighty game resurrects him because I guess it's that good.

One thing I can tell is that the writing system in this foreign tongue is similar to languages with Roman-style alphabets, as it says "Love Football" at the end. It would seem "Love" is a cognate between English and this mystery language, and its speakers call soccer "football".

FIFA 12 will be released in September.

Glad to see GR is trying so hard to decypher that archaic dead language, keep us updated if you decode anything!

When this games come out I wonder if anyone born in North America with non central/southamerican or european parents can name the players in that trailer... or in the picture.
