Is That MOTHERF&#@ING Alucard in Lords of Shadow 2?

Posted on Friday, June 1 @ 07:30:49 Eastern by

If you listen to our weekly podcast, GameRevolution Radio, you may have heard Daniel and I go back and forth on the subject of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. He loves it. I, however, thought it was great at the beginning, but fell short, leaving me to give up on the game and move on.

Hearing about a sequel, Daniel was like a school girl on prom night, waiting for his corsage—excited, to say the least. Last night during Konami's pre-E3 show, they confirmed the existence of the sequel with a trailer.

...And in that trailer...

I could swear that Alucard is there. Since I didn't finish the first Lords of Shadow, I have no idea why Gabriel Belmont has these demonic powers, and this whip-hand thingy that lets him decimate entire crowds of mortals in mere seconds. And since they don't show his face, only a glimpse of the ghostly white hair and black, gold-trimmed garb, I can't say for sure if my favorite Castlevania character of all-time is in the game. But it sure as shit looks to be him, and it's enough to make me purchase Lords of Shadow and pick up where I left off. Because now, I've got to see what the hells is going on.

Tell GR: Is this Alucard?

Here's the trailer.

The guy at the end is probably Alucard. The other guys looks more like Jake Gyllenhaal to me. Maybe he's Alucard's son, Radulac.

Not to ruin anything for you Anthony but at the end of LoS they elude to why Gabriel has those demonic powers and it looks to start off where the last one concluded which was him in the castle as a not so nice anti-hero kinda sorta.

SotN was quite possibly my favorite game of the PS1 era. Also, when the guy who is quite probably Alucard raises his sword, you can see his face reflect off the blade...

Yeah, there's a lot going on in the ending of Lords of Shadow. Love that this is picking up where that one left off. There's a lot of potential for this story.

I guess I'm wondering whether the huge crowds of enemies in this trailer will show up in actual gameplay or not. AND IT CERTAINLY DOES LOOK LIKE ALUCARD!
