Joakim Mogren Is Cliff Bleszinski, Not Hideo Kojima... We Think

Posted on Thursday, March 14 @ 16:06:06 Eastern by

We took two looks at the photo of Joakim Mogren posted by Geoff Keighley on Instagram today (pictured on right), and immediately thought, "he reminds us of someone currently out of work!" Cliff Bleszinski certainly looks similar to the man in the bandages, at least from what little we can see. Note the light blue color of the eyes, skin, and lip color.

What could Cliff Bleszinski be up to and who could he be up to it with? What if Hideo Kojima and Cliff Bleszinski are working together on Metal Gear or related games like The Phantom Pain? It makes a lot more sense than you'd think.

Here's a tweet:
Here are some images of the two icons hamming it up:

We really couldn't think of a better person to head up a development team separate from Kojima's own. Plus, Cliffy B's invovlement with other franchises, namely the multi-million selling Gears of War franchise, would add even more draw power to the project. It also explains why Cliffy B has been spotted in so many pictures with Kojima, and helped celebrate Metal Gear's 25th anniversary at PAX Prime in Seattle this past year (Video from @PAULFIERCE).

Still skeptical? How about this angle?

Honestly, that was my same thought too. I know that Kojima and Cliffy B are actually like pretty good friends, so it wouldn't surprise me.

The second Daniel mentioned it, I remember seeing pics of them together and some old tweets. Makes perfect sense on many levels. He brings a lot to the table and it's someone who has criticized MGS in the past.

I believe his exact words were "They're good, they're just not games I want to make."

    Still wouldn't surprise me.

    My mind = blown.

I'm calling that it isn't him, but if it is that'd be a best-case scenario.

    Nice find!

Also, "Note the light blue color of the eyes, skin, and lip color." This man must have asphyxiated long ago.

Well, I was gong to add "stunning ice blue eyes, soft skin, and sensual lips" but that would have been a little weird. We're all thinking it though.

Rising was bad enough, but I forgave it because it's a spin off. But if cliff starts to influence the main series, I'll have lost faith in gaming forever

Gears is very overrated. And ivory_soul, I don't like your choice of words. One of the best games "for" this generation? It's okay to see its one of the best games "of" this generation (if you enjoy steaming piles of ****) but gears has ruined many genres, particularly horror, but forcing developers to turn their unique games into gears, the main reason I think this is the worst console generation so far. Gears is the worst thing to happen to gaming ever, it's started too many bad trends that can't be stopped

The first one was good, but it has become guilty of the copy and paste technique with the sequels. Halo was guilty of it too until they woke the hell up. And what I mean about copy and paste is same weapons, same gameplay, and a few new things added to make it seem "new". Don't get me wrong I loved the finale of 3 but while playing it I realized that very little has changed in the game. Its the same game I have been playing since 2006. People rag on COD being the same but seem to ignore it when another franchise is doing it too.

Adding on to Daniel, back in December, Cliffy B announced he was a creating a new game studio. Also, looked at Moby Dick Studio's Facebook page and saw this (add https:// here) sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/894684_622293464464003_472670121_o.jpg

Yeah, It's definitely Cliffy B helping Hideo Joakim...errr I mean Kojima (damn anagrams!)

    Doesn't look like him.

You can see his face a lot better in the GTTV video.
