RIP Ralph Baer (1922-2014)

RIP Ralph Baer (1922-2014) I really, really hate writing obits. I really do. But I take it as a personal honor to be able to say good things about the men and women I respect, whether in this industry or just in my life, and Ralph Baer is the reason all of this exists in the first...

Kicking Off GDC With A Contest Winner

Posted on Tuesday, March 1 @ 12:13:58 Eastern by

(The other side of the manifesto!)

I should clarify that Blake and Nick never really left the Bay Area. Anthony and I had to fly in from our corners of the universe. While I'm hanging out at the airport, let's discuss some pre-GDC action!

If you've had some sort of no-thank-you software installed on your computer, you may not have noticed our GDC page until it made its way to the features section. In reality, GDC started weeks ago.

That's right, the manifesto has been flooded with pre-GDC news, rumors, and teasers. While you're waiting around for the hard details to hit, you can check out all of that news by heading to our nifty new TAG page.

If you're lazy, you can follow this link, or any of the GDC links on the homepage to find all posts that have been tagged with "GDC". Consequently, if you're looking for a regular feature like the Revolutionary Rant or The People Speak, you can also find that by typing "www.gamerevolution.com/tag/revolutionary-rant" OR "the-people-speak" into your address bar.

And what's all this about a contest winner? That's right, I held a little giveaway in our forums in an effort to get you dear readers to find the tag pages for yourselves! Read to a gamer and he'll be in the know for a day. Teach a gamer to find the news on Game Revolution and he'll be in the know for the entire span of GDC.

Oh, you want to win contests too? Maybe you should register, hop in the forums, and participate! I know everyone in there is scary, but if you get you and your friends to join in, you can form your own bubble of safety from the likes of UghRochester, MattAY, Bretimus_v2, or Longo_2_guns.

And speaking of Longo_2_guns, he discovered the tag page first and is the winner of my own personal swag-giveaway. Longo, PM me your details to receive your prize.

Stay tuned for more GDC love-in all week long!
