Yesterday, while cleaning up my media center, I found my copy of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, which I bought sometime before Christmas last year. I had been pretty excited about this game pre-release, what with it being the first "traditional", albeit shorter than usual,...

Kids Want Apple, Not Nintendo, Says Toy Report

Posted on Monday, October 25 @ 18:13:35 Eastern by
The Duracell Toy Report says they want iPhones and video cameras, not a Nintendo DS. Don't worry guys, Reggie's on the ball about this kind of stuff.

I get the value behind iPhones or iPod Touches. $15 on one of those machines equals at LEAST 5 games, some of which are actually pretty good! On a DS, or a PSP, there's no way you can find that many different pieces of entertainment for the same price. Kids don't really have the attention span for Dragon Quest IX anyways.

Certainly not as much as Reggie Fils-Aime. Speaking with Forbes, Reggie has admitted to 150 hours of dragon questing. Does that mean he hasn't kept an eye on the competition? Fils-Aime told Forbes "Do I think that in the near term they can hurt us more than Microsoft?”

"Absolutely."

Phew! Reggie, you had us sweating there. Apparently the ranking this holiday isn't #1 Nintendo DS, #2, #3, #4 any Nintendo developed and published games. Instead, kids want:

1. iPhone 4 (14%)
2. iPod touch (13%)
3. iPad (12%)
4. Kinect for Xbox (6%)
5. Zhu Zhu Pet Hamsters / Kung Zhu Hamsters (5%)
6. Flip Video Camera (4%)
7. Toy Story 3 Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear (4%)
8. PlayStation Move (4%)
9. LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 Video Game (3%)
10. Barbie Video Girl (3%)

.... WHAT?! Kinect at #4 and Playstation Move at #8? The 3DS is only months away, but when is the Wii 2 coming?
