Konami To Acquire Hudson Soft

Posted on Thursday, January 20 @ 12:40:21 Eastern by

Konami, who already owns 50% of Hudson Soft's stock, will soon acquire full ownership on April 1 of the company, which has created video games since 1978 and is the creative mind behind Binary Land, Bomberman, Super Adventure Land, and Mario Party.

While Hudson CEO Michihiro Ishizuka will step down, to be replaced by Konami Digital's Kazuhiko Uehara, the fate of the remaining estimate of 500 employees is still unknown. However, it is likely that Konami will be renaming the studio in their image and having it focus on social platform gaming, like Viva! Mall for Facebook.
