REVIEWSGRiD 2 Review
Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

Ubisoft Annecy's persistent push to bring stabby multiplayer to the masses sees them mixing things up and throwing curve balls at weathered fans like me.
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Let's Play with Game Revolution: High-Level Skyrim Tips
Posted on Wednesday, December 14 @ 07:00:00 Eastern by Nicholas Tan
For my first Let's Play video (though I'm not really "playing" much), I will be relaying my tips on character builds that are nearing Level 50 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In general, I will detail the following:
- Detailed advice on which Perks to take and which to avoid
- Showing off a set of Daedric Heavy Armor with Extra Effect enchantments
- Tip on how to improve Enchanting and Smithing easily, while earning loads of gold
If you have any strong tips to share on Skyrim, let us know through the comments below!
You say "we're cutting back on Skyrim stuff" yet you still put out some news on a weekly basis. Amazing how your TES addiction takes over no matter what.
The only tip I can give is to way until the bugs are sorted out one way (Bethesda) or another (community mods) and then give the game a try, like me!
...or you could stop being a pansy about the occasional bug and play the damn game. It most definetly deserved the Game of the Year award it picked up last weekend.
Occasional bug? I can't play 15 minutes without seeing some kind of bug. Deserved game of they year? I'm sorry but as much as I am enjoying Skyrim it is a glitchy mess of a game. And no game with this many issues should get that award.
Don't know what you guys are talking about. I've played 40+ hours on the game and have yet to encounter a single major bug, other than my game freezing up once and having to restart it from the last auto-save.
I've had the game freeze to the point where I had to unplug the system in order to get anything accomplished. It froze completely solid, but I still rebooted the system and went right back into playing because I'm pretty much a sucker for Skyrim.
I didn't mean to imply game breaking glitches. Ninety-nine percent of the glitches I run into are not game breaking but every time I play the game I quit because my game froze. I ran into one mammoth that infinitely cloned itself until the game crashed, in an area near Riverwood it started to rain deer. In another area a skeleton archer began to float into the sky (for miles) after it aggroed my flame atronach and it held aggro even when there was another skeleton beating her with a sword.
I think the thing that bugs me the most is just that Bethesda knew the game was buggy and they released it thinking, “We can patch it.” I would rather them release the game 11/11/12 and have it polished.
I never had a bug until about 30 hours when I saw an npc sprinting in place but I was still able to talk to the person whilst they kept running and seemingly going nowhere, The next one was around 50 hours when I saw a flying horse. In that many hours to only have two bugs that did nothing to hurt the actual gameplay (if anything gave me a laugh) doesn't change my opinion at all that Skyrim deserving of the game of the year award.
Any suggestions on leveling alchemy? The game got loads easier once I started smithing, if you want to cut some corners, iron ore is a bit cheaper than the iron Ingots and only require one ore per ingot. There are also quite a few different mines around which you can collect ore for free with a pick axe. If you make sure to have at least half the amount of leather strips as ore you can improve all the iron daggers for -1 leather strip. Late game and with enough speech it's easier to be lazy though.
The only real reason to bother with Alchemy at all is the the refusal to level Restoration magic. Through Smithing and Enchanting you can make same damn near game breaking gear. My current set is a Dragonscale Armor (I prefer Light Armor) that gives me free Destruction spells, and extra hundred pounds carrying capacity, and increases my One Handed damage by 184%. Not to mention with my Shield (which has 50% reduced Frost and Fire Damage) I have over a 900 armor rating. I just don't need potions.
Though, I suppose you could use Alchemy to make some Enhances Restoration potions and stack them, then couple that with Fortify Smithing and Enchanting potions to get the same effect. You'd still need to level Enchanting to 100 if you want to put two Enchantments on your gear though. Honestly though, that feels kind of like an exploit to me, and I wouldn't be at surprised to see it changed in a futre patch.
As to glitches, I've only encountered two of them in my 120+ hours with the game. One is quest where the librarian orc in the the Mage's College wants me to collect rare books for him. I found the first book before taking the quest and now I can't turn in the book. I also can't drop the book since it's a quest item. It's a bit annoying but not game breaking.
The other one was a glitched Ancient Dragon I found in front of a word wall. It was stuck to the ground and frozen. No matter how much damage I did to it, I couldn't kill it. I used it to power level both Conjuration and Two Handed damage by smacking it over and over again with the Bound Battle Axe. Considering how stupidly massive this game is, I'd be amazed not to encounter the occasional glitch. I've more than gotten my money's worth in entertainment, and there is still a ton content left to play through.
This game is fairly buggy. I've got a beast of a PC and the game very frequently crashes to desktop with no error message showing. Numpad keys are not assignable, what? Sometimes textures won't load, defaulting to the pink/purple placeholder. Still, I love the game, I put dozens of hours in it so far and I think only the Old Republic will steal me away from Skyrim in the foreseable future.

Been playing for 40+ and the only issue I've had is screen freeze that required restart. I have that issue with ALOT of games on Xbox so I chalk it up to the console. Why complain about the bugs and "unfinished" product? Stop playing it and either return or sell the game to someone who won't ***** as much.
Nick I'm offended you didn't give your enchanted gear awesome names. It's so much more satisfying to pull out your war axe Valhalla and kill a troll and then slay a bandit with an arrow fired from the daedric bow Torment.
