Make The Damn Movie Already!

Posted on Thursday, August 26 @ 19:39:47 Eastern by
Where the hell is it? You churn out this stellar ad for Halo: Reach, but you can't get some damn Hollywood suits together to make the movie?

Woah, sorry GR. It's just, well you know. Seems like every live-action spot for a Halo game gets better and better. And look at what Neill Blomkamp did with District 9 (click the link to see why that's relevant if you didn't already know)! Seems like the stars are out there in support of a Halo movie, but 343 Industries can only get them in line for a 90-second advertisement.

I hear you. Enough already! Here's the Halo: Reach live-action trailer, "Deliver Hope."

Wasn't that great?

Truth be told, I don't like whoring it out to you guys, but I thought the clip was awesome and definitely worth your collective attention. While I will be playing Halo: Reach, I'd like to know who else out there is buying one of the holiday season's biggest releases. Are you? Did the ad affect your decision and in which way?

I won't be. I think Halo has just become a big money making scheme with the way they're pumping these things out. I was never a fan of the physics anyways.

I loved the first Halo. The story was intriguing, the combat was always intense, and I had almost as much fun with the multiplayer as I did with Run (which, for me, is saying something). I just lost interest after that. Maybe it's my time in college dorms where everyone is playing either Madden or Halo, but I feel very "meh" about this video.

I've been in love with Halo since the first game, so I will definately buy Halo Reach. I wish MS would put the other Halo games on PC, but I will settle for the 360.

To be honest, I'm not too psyched about Halo:Reach. It doesn't look like they improved the game much, graphically or otherwise. I can say, however, that Halo has a reaaallly good advertising company behind it.

First, I absolutely agree with bomby, the advertising agency that is used for the Halo games is fantastic. Second, I can see where the critics of the Halo franchise have become disinterested, this much hype and drama about entertainment tends to make the jaded even moreso.
Third, I totally absolutely emphatically love bungie and the Halo series, even though i'm a mediocre player, and i will absolutely buy this game, the heroic version, a statue of spartans in my living room might cause my wife to toss the xbox out the window...

I will buy this game. In a year or so, when its not so huge and f*cking expensive. Everyone here has made good points, I agree with them all. The Halo games are wicked, have been since day one. I don't know how many times I played the first one through, start to finish. The sequels have all been wicked as well, but have never been able to deliver the same impact and total awesomeness that was the first one. It'll be the same with Reach. It will be a totally *****in game, with awesome sequences and battles, but its not gonna change the world. It can wait.

A movie, though, would be really really cool. They've always had the cinematics down in the series, from the commercials to the in-game cutscenes. It shouldn't take too much more to make a feature film. And I would be all over that ****, like white on rice.
