Mario Portal Game... It's in Development

Posted on Monday, August 29 @ 15:40:05 Eastern by Josh_Laddin
Yeah, we've posted lots of videos of other games using portals. We've even posted Mario ones. But unlike a fan-made spoof that's meant to be a one-hit-wonder, this one's actually a real game. The guys over at Stabyourself.net, who seem to have a thing for updating old-school games with crazy physics, have been working on a game called Mari0, the potential of which you can see here plainly:

Today's news update on the game listed a bunch of features they're packing into it:

  • The game will have mappacks, which will be downloadable from ingame. Users most likely won’t be able to publish maps directly, but will be able to send them in and we’ll add them for everyone to use.
  • The primary maps will have a story and some portaly puzzles. What kind, well, we’ll figure that out as we go
  • Level editor will be embedded in the game so you can edit the level while you play
  • Original SMB levels and Lost levels will be included
  • Simultaneous Multiplayer
