Mass Effect 3 Interactive Story on Youtube

Posted on Sunday, March 18 @ 12:00:43 Eastern by Jessica_Vazquez
I took it upon myself a few years back to see what really changed if you played the Mass Effect series renegade versus paragon. I mean, how different can they really be? So I began two separate playthroughs, one as a female renegade and one as a male paragon. The results have been quite surprising.

Aside from the multiple romance options available while playing as a male or female character, the choices made in Mass Effect 1 and 2 have a significant impact on how the final chapter of the story plays outwho lives, who dies, and how people react to you throughout the game. I have not finished Mass Effect 3, so I'm unsure of how it will affect the ending, but from what I've seen so far, the core of the story has been altered on each of my playthroughs due to decisions made in previous games.

I've made an interactive YouTube video series that gives you the choice of watching the paragon or renegade story playthrough and the ability to skip through conversations or combat. My female character has a romantic storyline with Liara and my male character has a romantic storyline with Miranda, but it may change depending on how things play out. Since I have yet to finish the game I'll be updating it daily.

Unlike Nick, my day job doesn't consist of playing video games and napping like a cat [Meow. ~Ed.] so I haven't been able to spend quite as much time with the game as I would like to. Putting these videos together is quite a task but some fangirls gotta do it. If you haven't played the series and are curious about the story, it's definitely something you might want to check out. It's a lot better than anything else those other YouTube walkthrough video hacks are putting out there.

Just keep in mind that when you finish the game it wipes away your memory of all those differences and you will start to believe that the entire game is the same no matter what you choose. At least that seems to be what happened to most people.
