Leave it to Bioware to kick my ass at 10:00.

Indeed, the best game I saw today occurred during my second official meeting, sitting right next to Bioware founder Dr. Ray. Mass Effect, the company's latest attempt to make my girlfriend leave me, meshes the best aspects of KOTOR (branching paths, deep character design, morale choices that affect the gameplay) with the best aspects of - breathe in - Star Control 2 (sprawling galactic map and real-time lander exploration). It's just a monster.
