Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

DAILY MANIFESTO

Max Anarchy is Next For Platinum Games

Posted on Tuesday, January 25 @ 23:12:51 Eastern by
You know what I've been playing lately? Vanquish. Wow. That game is great. Quite the send of up western third person shooters. Seriously, "I'm gonna need a bigger gun!" That's the most meat-headed quip I've ever heard, and it could totally fit in Gears of War.

Frankly, I've been happy with every game Platinum Games has developed and published. Bayonetta's story may have been absolute shit, but the gameplay was great.

Unfortunately, Platinum Games has come to the end of its publishing agreement with Sega. On the one hand, that means another game is on the way. On the other hand, the future of the studio is up the in the air. While I'm sure they'll do fine, mostly thanks to the low overhead and respectable sales they've pushed, I can't help but worry.

Instead, I'll have to preoccupy myself with the news that the next Platinum Games... game has been announced in the latest issue of Famitsu.

Max Anarchy will apparently be the studio's first online combat game, allowing you take your friends to task with chain saws and torches.

And who else wields a chainsaw? None other than Madworld's Jack Cayman, who will apparently be making an appearance in Max Anarchy, and in full color no less. No more black, white, and red all over for him!

While we don't have any screenshots yet, you can be sure we'll keep an eye on the darlings of Japanese game design and everything they have coming in the future.
