MEGATON: GiantBomb Bought By GameSpot Parent Company

Posted on Thursday, March 15 @ 10:46:09 Eastern by

Jeff Gerstmann, who was the center of much controversy over his criticial Kane & Lynch review at GameSpot that eventually led to his firing, went on to found the site GiantBombCBS, the parent company of GameSpot, and a number of other sites, such as Metacritic and GameFAQs, has just acquired GiantBomb. Shocking, to say the least.

You can watch a live stream of the GiantBomb team scarfing down some pancakes and chatting shop, right here.

This is a developing story, so we'll add more as it becomes available.

Hopefully, they don't fire Jeff Gerstmann... again.

Chris Brown and Rihanna getting back together... this is relevant.

This is laughably stupid. It just goes to show that Gerstmann and crew go where the money is. They had like a whole network of sites, didn't they?

Just seems so lazy to get out on your own, build this (admittedly) fantastic and well-liked THING, and then move back in with your mom and your stepdad who hit you last time you said you didn't like him.

Let's see what you do when someone drives a truckload of money up to your house, Daniel! But seriously, that guy is a total sellout.

Apparently, it wasn't his decision. Giant Bomb's former parent company is the one who made the deal. Jeff really didn't have all that much of a choice, unless he just quit again.

I don't think there could be a sweeter revenge than allowing the PARENT of the company that fired you from your $80k a year job to reacquire you for millions.
