Mortal Kombat Gets Over To Your Console In April

Posted on Friday, January 21 @ 18:48:16 Eastern by

Way back when I only had a Gamecube (what a fool I was), I used to brag to my friends that I had the best version of Soul Calibur II. It was the truth too. Link was an awesome platform-exclusive character. The other two versions of the game were practically broken because of it. No one wanted to play with Spawn. Heihachi? More like Dumb-hachi!

Prepare to get laughed at, Xbox 360 owners. Today's official reveal of the Mortal Kombat box art further cements the fact that Kratos will stay on as the only console-exclusive character.

You can also take notice that the game will be landing in American and UK retailers on April 19th. Better start spinning those Mortal Kombat DVDs you have laying around. You'll want to refresh on classic MK characters before the game lands.

Something else I find interesting in this art? Now that we've moved away from the console exclusive and towards the content-exclusive-to-one-console, we're going to start seeing a lot more of that on box art.

"Content exclusive to the Playstation 3" sure does roll off the tongue smoother than "Only on Playstation 3" anyways.
