It's not often I say things like this...and it's with a bit of shame...but it needs to be said. This Manifesto post makes me want to punch you in the face, figuratively speaking.

It really isn't, and you shouldn't take it personally.

But you took something I love and put just a little bit of something bad in it. This article you made is like Ex-Lax Brownies.

Don't worry though I love most everything else you do.

Er...why, exactly? Does this spread to every activity, too?

If you watch MMA you must lust for men.
If you go to a zoo you want to do it with a zebra.
If you play your 360, you crave to insert it into a DVD drive.

    Because Fluttershy is goddamn adorable.

But seriously, the characters are a hell of a lot more fun to watch than most of the crap I see on television. And writing is done like any high quality "kids" movie (see Pixar) - both audiences can find different parts of the script they find humorous.

I had an assignment for a psych class where I had to watch a few kids cartoons. I chose the stuff I watched as a kid - Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Spongebob. The first two were absolutely atrocious. Nothing but "yay let's all be friends!" and "even if you lost you're still a winner!" Spongebob, on the other hand, was pretty damn enjoyable. Granted I haven't watched a lot, but there seems to be two pretty distinct classes of cartoons, those written for only young'ns, and those that can be enjoyed by all.

(Long comment is long. Stupid character limit.)

But regardless of why I enjoy watching, why hate on the people that watch the show? Frankly I don't know why you'd click on the post if you weren't a brony in the first place. It's not like there was a lot of subtlety to the title.

So we have a reason for you reading the post, but you've still avoided answering why you have such a negative view of the brony community. Or at the very least (in case you think bestiality is just fine and dandy...?...) a stereotype of the entire group.

Point one: "brony". That's a name douchebags think up. It goes hand-in-hand with situations like when people listen to "Soulja Boy" and brand themselves "soulja boys". Or if you like Pokemon and insist that you are a Pokemon master. You're not a soulja boy, you like Soulja Boy. You're not a Pokemon master, you like Pokemon. You're not a brony, you like My Little Pony.

Point two: It's a show for girls. No guy would be interested unless the characters were cute. Whether they're willing to admit it or not, most guys that watch the show do so because they think one or more of the characters is sexually attractive. Some would deny this at first, and in any other situation might say bestiality is wrong, but since they're cartoon ponies with human-like intelligence, the case, to them, is different. Like it or not, it is what it is.

If you really have an issue with how the community addresses itself, it's probably not worth my time talking to you. At which point I think of Fry saying "That's impossible! My time is worthless!" But seriously. I don't even know that I can say anything about this because it's such a pointless thing to complain about.

And since when in the holy hell did saying something was cute meant you were sexually attracted to it? I'm fairly confident when somebody calls a baby cute the people they're talking to aren't immediately repulsed. Fairly confident most people aren't going to say "Oh god that's disgusting, you want to have sex with that baby?" Yeah. Kind of the same thing with ponies. Fluttershy is, as I've said, goddamn adorable. I have no desire to find a pink and yellow pony and have sex with it.

I'm not sure what your real issue with the show and the people that watch it (dare I say bronies?) is. But it clearly goes beyond anything logical.

    ...What? What!?!?

What evidence? By saying that a few outliers represent an entire group?

Some Americans are obese. I guess every American is obese.
Some Iraqi's like to commit acts of terrorism. I guess all Iraqi's are terrorists.
Some Germans like to kill 6 million jews. I guess every German wants to kill 6 million jews.
