Nothing Going On? Blame Diablo III

Posted on Tuesday, May 15 @ 10:59:55 Eastern by Keri_Honea
Hasn't been much going on today in terms of news, people being on Twitter, or really anything in general. Sure, the impending E3 Expo is to blame, because really, who wants to make big announcements now? But I think we all know who to blame for today: Diablo III.

Even web cartoonists can't be productive today.

I'll just sit here and wait for the servers to crash (too late! baddum kssh) so that people will make announcements again.

Bought it for the midnight launch, still haven't been able to log into a server. I know Diablo III is a game about battling your way through Hell, but I think Blizzard is taking things a bit too far.

My best friend sat outside a GameStop for 8 hours yesterday to get in on the midnight launch. I told him I played WoW on launch and he was wasting his time. He stayed up trying to get in a game till 4 a.m. and finally gave up.

Amazon shows my pre-order as "out for delivery" so I got a full night's rest and haven't missed a damn thing except server crashes while I wait for the mail.

Lol, mail came, already had the digital client installed. Logged in, created a character, chat message about 15 minutes till server shutdown. Finished the Retched Mother though!

And this is why it is dumb to force people to connect to servers to play a single player game. It should be optional like all other single player games that have a multiplayer component. Sitting this one out for the time being.

Yeah, have several friends taking vacation to play, and they wouldn't hear any logic about releases and server stability. They're now cursing a storm... sure it will be a fond memory soon...

There we go again, servers shutting down in 10 minutes was the first warning I got so I'm guessing they have a lot of stuff to work through at the server site, about to go to bed, hopefully it's all sorted by the morning!
