P4G: Review Log 02: Hands Off The Soba, Pal!

Posted on Sunday, November 4 @ 16:01:41 Eastern by

I'll try to keep the story details light. Yes, I know Persona 4 is over four years old at this point, but some of you will be joining me in Inaba for the first time on November 20th. Luckily, there's plenty of new features and events to talk about in light of where I'm at (May 3rd, if you're curious).

One feature I've come to rely on in light of a guide or FAQ is the voice feature. All Persona 4: Golden players connected to PSN while they're playing will upload their activities so that other gamers can get advice and tips on what activities they should be doing on any given day. If you're not so intent on a MAX Social Link playthrough and would rather make smart choices while enjoying the game worry-free, Voice gives tips at any juncture.

If it's raining, you might find that a lot of other players chose to study in the library (for greatly increased Knowledge) or if you've got a free Saturday afternoon, you might discover that other gamers decided to spend time with Marie, a new social link in Golden.

Elminating the constant guide-pacifier makes choices in Persona 4: Golden easier, less stressful, and keeps you tied to the game. Errr, speaking of which, I've gotta check on the Midnight Channel.

I lost my PS2 save for this about 25% through and gave up. I could never complete a Persona game because they were so hard. Might have to pick this up when the price drops.

Is P4 much harder than P3? I'm about 3/4 of the way through P3P (Sept. 13) and I haven't found anything particularly hard. A few close calls, but I don't even think I got one Game Over screen so far. (Though it is starting to get more challenging...)

P4 is comparable to P3P, since the combat systems are very much alike. P3 and P3F, on the other hand, are a bit harder in my opinion. Just don't go choosing the harder difficulties and you should be all right.

I must really such at the game then. P4 seemed a bit easier because it is more streamlined and not so confusing.

You could always drop the difficulty down to Easy (or very easy in P4:G and P3P).

I don't see why not. There's still a lot to enjoy in the game when you're not dying in every dungeon.

Yeah, got the last AC Liberation Bundle they had. It was too good a deal to pass up. I am really enjoying the game so far. Loving the New Orleans setting and its really interesting playing as a female assassin.
