LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Everything I Learned About Call of Duty: Ghosts Last Week
I wasn't allowed to talk about the new Infinity Ward game last week when I met with Activision, and I don't have much to say now that Xbox One spilled the beans.

Pimp your iPad with an Analog Joystick

Posted on Tuesday, January 4 @ 10:51:55 Eastern by
Sick and tired of using those virtual joysticks to control games on your iPad? Are your greasy gamer fingers getting that screen too dirty to see? Fried chicken for dinner? Let me have a piece of that.

Anyway, Ten 1 has crafted an analog stick that suction cups onto your iPad. All those beautiful games with clumsy virtual sticks will now bend to your every whim.

Ten 1's "Fling" joystick accessory allows you to "stop worrying about the controls and take your skills to the next level."

Miss your console? Fling gives you the feel of an analog joystick, so your iPad games feel even more immersive. When the screen illuminates, Fling melts away and becomes invisible, so you'll never miss any action on the screen.

I can't imagine the Fling would add that much to your gaming experience on the iPad, but I do know one thing. I hate virtual joysticks.

Here's a video of Ten 1's Fling in action:

Hey Dan, I'm a stubborn "purist" gamer who thinks these iPad thingamabobs are just plain silly when it comes to gaming compared to a system designed specifically for games. How about a top 10 of the iPad/iPhone games? That way I can either decide I need to buy an iPad to play these games, or I can bask in my own smugness after having been shown that the best they have to offer is far below my threshold of quality. Everyone would be a winner!

@Rinnon: I shall commence work on an iPhone/iPad top 10 list immediately.

*Spoiler Alert* I have a pretty high threshold for games I'll play on my iPhone.

(Except I used to work as an App reviewer so all those shitty apps I had to play may have soured me on the i-Whatever as a gaming platform.)

Hey, that sounds good to me, the more sour you are towards iApp games, the more in line with my own tastes that top 10 would be. I'm not a huge huge fan of disposable entertainment myself. Games you just play for 10 minutes to kill time then put in your pocket, possibly to never look at again. I like being hooked on a game.
